To make this work, the DIA is focusing on Orchestration.

Orchestration is the digital equivalent of a conductor leading an orchestra. It ensures that the violin (one AI) doesn't play over the flute (another AI), keeping the whole system in harmony.

Without orchestration, you get Latency—which is just a techy word for "lag" or delay.

In a video game, lag makes you lose a match. In a military operation, lag can be a matter of life and death. By letting agents talk directly to each other, the "lag" of waiting for a human to click "next" disappears.

The Human is Still the Boss

Even with all these bots talking to each other, the DIA isn't looking for a "Skynet" scenario.

They want Human-in-the-loop systems. This means that while the AI agents do the heavy lifting and the "chatter," a human always makes the final, critical decisions.

It’s like having a team of hyper-intelligent interns who do all the research and prep work, but you’re still the one who signs the contract.

The future of defense isn't just a smarter computer; it's a digital ecosystem that thinks and reacts as a team.
